VRMA Excellence Awards 

The 2022 VRMA Excellence Awards winners were companies and individuals that made incredible industry impacts during the year. At the 2022 VRMA International Conference, we honored and recognized their hard work with the only awards program that spans the entire industry.

VMRA Excellence Award - 2022 Winners

  • Vacation Rental Management Company of the Year
    Awarded to an outstanding vacation rental management company as determined by customer service, innovation, local community engagement, and dedication to the vacation rental industry.

    WINNER: Beachball Properties

    Beachball Properties only started with a small portfolio of properties and then put everything they had into the business. Through their hard work using social media, free advertising opportunities, and more, the business has grown to more than 200 properties.

  • Supplier Company of the Year
    Awarded to an outstanding supplier company as determined by customer service, innovation, and dedication to the vacation rental industry.

    WINNER: 
    Breezeway

    Breezeway's innovation across its operations and messaging platforms have enabled property managers to deliver deeper service, while helping them also provide tailored communication to their guests.  These programs have made significant impacts, improving overall guest experience and ensuring a safer stay.



  • Rising Star Award: Individual Under 35 (Vacation Rental Management or Supplier Company) 
    Awarded to a young professional (under 35) best exemplifying exceptional professionalism, service, and success within the vacation rental industry.

    WINNER:
     Madison Rifkin (Mount)

    Rifkin is the sole vision behind every step of Mount. Her success includes winning an accelerator program and raising more than $1 million for her business so she can grow. Her positive, engaging style has put Mount on the path to even greater success.

  • VRHP Housekeeper or Housekeeping Team of the Year (Individual or Company) 
    Awarded to an individual or company best exemplifying a commitment to delivering top-tier housekeeping services to vacation rentals.

    WINNER:
     Land & Sea Cleaning

    Helping properties rise from poor ratings to five stars, Land & Sea Cleaning goes above and beyond for the owners and guests. Taking extra care during each clean, the company prioritizes safety and consistency in providing satisfaction.

  • Best Marketing Campaign Award (Vacation Rental Management Company) 
    Awarded to a vacation rental management company that launched a creative and successful marketing campaign that yielded measurable results.

    WINNER: 
    Casiola Vacation Homes

    Casiola produced an innovative campaign encouraging website users to participate in a scavenger hunt utilizing their website’s 3D tours of homes for a chance at a free stay. The campaign led to an incredible amount of increased followers, more direct bookings and other important successes.

  • Best Marketing Campaign Award (Supplier Company) 
    Awarded to a supplier company that launched a creative and successful marketing campaign that yielded measurable results.

    WINNER: 
    Vrbo, part of Expedia Group

    Vrbo, part of Expedia Group launched its “Vacation Homes of the Year” campaign this year which not only highlighted the most outstanding vacation rental inventory on its platform, but also recognized exemplary hosts. Their efforts garnered both local and national coverage, including more than 700 pieces of coverage overall and 1.2 billion impressions.

  • Community Impact Award (Individual or Company) 
    Awarded to an individual or company that has demonstrated a positive, tangible impact within their local community.

    WINNER:
     Tyann Marcink Hammond (Touch Stay)

    Tyann's consistent dedicated hard work, including volunteering locally and supporting organizations through donation campaigns, has made her a true pillar in the community.

  • Advocate of the Year Award (Vacation Rental Management or Supplier Company) 
    Awarded to a company for the most outstanding efforts in advocating on behalf of the vacation rental management industry.

    WINNERS: 
    Steve Milo and Merilee Karr

    Milo and Karr have individually each dedicated their time and efforts to advocating for vacation rental management. Whether it was developing national standards or driving the VRMA Advocacy Fund, this year's winners made a tangible impact through advocacy, 

  • Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Impact Award (Vacation Rental Management or Supplier Comapny) 
    Awarded to a company who demonstrates a commitment to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, that has led to a measurable impact.

    WINNER: 
    Hostfully

    In addition to many other initiatives, Hostfully conducts a quarterly survey to gain valuable insight direct from its employees to help drive both hiring and policy decisions to be in line with their DEI commitment. As the company has grown so has their DEI program development and the diversity of its staff along the way.

VMRA Excellence Award - 2021 Winners

  • Vacation Rental Management Company of the Year

    WINNER: Coconut Condos

    Not only did Coconut Condos remain committed to providing maximum value for their owners, but they also remained passionate about giving back to the community, despite a difficult year with many challenges. Their progressive mindset kept them pushing forward in an innovative capacity.

  • Supplier Company of the Year

    WINNER: Touch Stay

    While many companies in other industries may have laid low, Touch Stay pushed full steam ahead. They believed their product would play a crucial role in helping the travel industry adjust. From the clients they serve to the guests who use their product, they are leading a movement that fosters valuable and meaningful guest communications.

  • Rising Star Award: Individual Under 35 (Vacation Rental Management or Supplier Company) 

    WINNER: Rocio Lane, Cleancio

    With a mission to change the industry from the inside out, Rocio Lane's core values of respect, teamwork, empathy, and innovation shined bright. Lane started Cleancio out of her garage, growing to multiple markets. After five years in the business, she continues to share her mission and inspire others.

  • VRHP Housekeeper or Housekeeping Team of the Year (Individual or Company) 

    WINNER: Carrie Taylor, Dunes Realty

    Taylor faced the challenges of the past year head on and is one of the reasons Dunes Realty remained a top choice and area leader in vacation rentals. Her steadfast attitude remained strong as she continued to deliver the experience every homeowner and guest have come to expect from her company.

  • Best Marketing Campaign Award (Vacation Rental Management Company) 

    WINNER: Thomas Givan, Ryson Real Estate & Vacation Rentals

    When the company hired Givan, his hard work and gifted skillset were immediately evident. From new cameras to software and even the use of drones, Ryson increased engagement across social media and showcased properties through an innovative video campaign.

  • Best Marketing Campaign Award (Supplier Company) 

    WINNER: Vrbo, part of Expedia Group

    Vrbo's video marketing campaign launched earlier this year and immediately became the largest in its brand history. With a heartwarming feel and a family theme throughout, the campaign ran across major networks, including ABC and NBC. The campaign videos on social media garnered more than 200,000 impressions and 3,500 engagements across channels.

*Nominations were submitted through the official online form by July 30, 2021. The VRMA Awards Committee reviewed all submissions to select one winner per category. Award recipients were announced during the 2021 VRMA International Conference.
