This year is off to a great start—not too long ago, I returned from the 2023 Spring Forum in Kansas City, Missouri. At this year’s event, the keynote and breakout sessions were outstanding, the networking opportunities were lively, and the exhibit hall was full of impressive booths and discussions.
After months of debate, New Orleans City Council passed a pair of new short-term rental (STR) laws, limiting STRs to one-per-square-block in residential areas and imposing stricter penalties on STR owners who violate the city’s rules.
Data from the Hawaii Department of Business, Economic Development, and Tourism show that Maui’s vacation rental supply, unit demand, and occupancy in February remained down double-digits from pre-pandemic levels in 2019 but were up from last year.
