With the consolidation of property management tools, the impending IPO of Airbnb, the “new” VRBO, Google and now Marriott, independent professional managers have a unique opportunity in positioning their business for more direct bookings. In addition, new ways of looking at our business through data management tools are allowing Professional Managers to optimize business performance. In this session, you will see how professionals managers in North America are working together to form networks that drive travelers to their respective businesses, and to one another. The session will demonstrate how implementing tactics to reach travelers at the point of planning impacts your booking cycles, brings amplification to your brand and delivers a higher level of service to your guests.

The New England VRMA meeting in 2015 at the Sheraton Boston Needham Hotel was the first time in the world that safety was discussed by professional vacation managers in a formal setting when Justin Ford got up and spoke for 10 minutes about smoke detectors. Since then, safety and security in vacation rentals has elevated to the "top 3" of traveler concerns when occupying a vacation rental, and Justin has spoken all over the world on this topic. In this discussion, Justin, Jonathan, and Fred will discuss the evolution of safety in vacation rentals in New England and what they are doing to ensure their guests are safe.
